Have You Seen The Movie “Unbreakable”?

The film “Unbreakable” was released in 2000, starring Bruce Willis. Well, whatever you may think of Bruce Willis (psst – I’ve always been a big fan of his), the movie really got me thinking about trauma and superpowers back then and has always stayed with me.

In the movie, the main character survives a train crash in which all the other passengers are killed. He is then contacted by a man who confronts him with the assumption that he has superpowers. After all, he wouldn’t have survived the crash otherwise. The main character naturally denies this assumption but begins to investigate. Eventually, he admits to himself that there might be some truth to the idea that he has superpowers, since he has survived several accidents unscathed and has never been sick.

What a realization! Wouldn’t we all love to have superpowers that let us go through life unscathed?

The good news is: we all have these superpowers!

Just like our hero in “The Unbreakable,” however, we have forgotten about them and forgotten how to use them.

What is Your Superpower?

What Does All This Have To Do With Trauma?

These superpowers are exactly what we need to cope with trauma.

Everyone has experienced a traumatic event at some point – an event associated with shame, pain, loss, or danger. These traumatic events are stored in our energy system and become “triggers” that others can press, throwing us off balance.

We usually experience trauma when something overwhelming happens in our lives that feels “too big” for us. We believe it could break us. That’s why we don’t know how to deal with it. We then do what seems easiest and most appropriate at that moment:

< we repress it

< push the memories aside and

< hope that we’ll never be confronted with it again.

But unfortunately, this plan usually doesn’t work, because the event continues to “haunt” our system; the emotions associated with it are still there and influence the rest of our lives.

From an energetic perspective, trauma affects you not only emotionally but also causes a short circuit in your body’s energy pathways. It’s as if someone had stuck a screwdriver into your energy system. It hurts like hell, sparks fly, and some things no longer work the way they used to.

Now comes the crucial question – is this really what you want? Do you want to keep living like this?

Let Trauma Out Of Your Heart

What Exacetly Are These Superpowers?

You know all of these superpowers – they are not new. They’re incredibly effective, but precisely in the situations where we need them most, we forget about them. The four most important superpowers include:

1) Accepting that there were situations in your past that you perceived as traumatic and stored away.

2) Forgiving isn’t always easy. Especially not when you’ve been deeply hurt or offended. For your own sake – and for your health – it’s incredibly important to be able to forgive.

3) Letting go means accepting that something happened to you that contradicts your wishes and values. If you don’t do this, it can prevent you from leaving the past behind and looking forward with full strength again.

4) Decide that this past event no longer has any influence on your present and future.

Your 4 Superpowers

These superpowers help you:

< resolve the trauma

< remove the screwdriver from your energy system

< get your energy flowing again.

When a trauma is resolved, you feel it immediately.

Some describe it as if an energy ball has exploded; for others, their hands get warm, or they suddenly feel calmer and centered. Above all, you feel much lighter.

Releasing Your Traumas is So Powerful

How Can You Not Only Be Resilient After A Trauma, But Acutally Grow From It?

By that, I don’t mean that your life will always be simple and easy. No – then it wouldn’t be life. The magic of it is – you always have a choice in how you deal with what happens in your life. I’m well aware that this sounds easier than it is.

Certain things just happen – I can’t change them, and you can’t change them. But what you can influence is how you deal with them. How you assess what has happened. This is exactly where Personal Energy Management comes into play.

Personal Energy Management is a tool that allows you to dissolve these energy blockages, thereby giving you much more energy than before. Because only when you have truly processed and let go of the trauma can you grow from it. And just imagine all the things you can do with this new and extra energy.

Doesn’t that sound good?
